No appetite since surgery???

Ds is 7 he had an operation 4 weeks ago, nothing major (hernia) he was under around 1.5hrs no complications and came home the same day.
Since then he's hardly eaten anything . He's missing full meals or at best having a few mouthful. He says he's just not hungry and has no appetite for anything at all. He's not eating snacks either. I'd be so happy right now if he asked for a bag of crisp. He's having some fluids but not a lot his lips are starting to get dry and cracked.

I'm at my wits end he can't afford to lose weight.

I think you need to go straight the doctor. That sounds very worrying after 4 weeks. At the very least they may prescribe some nutritional bulking drinks for him to sip.
