Hi all,
My kids just don’t listen to me, like seriously... DS is 7 and kind of lost (zones out when given instructions) all the time and just wines or ignores me when I tell him to to get things done eg put his uniform in the laundry basket, throws things on the floor for someone else to deal with (me). Takes an hour to eat! Wants to watch Tv, although its not allowed most of the time during the week, maybe only once and in the weekends. I resort to yelling which I hate/loathe and thats the only time, he might decide to get something done. All the while this behaviour rubs off on the younger one. I ask a question and i am totally ignored. There is nothing wrong with their hearing by the way, only works when presented with what they are interested in.
How do i change this behaviour or myself? Is this normal etc I am hating myself and feel very anxious and negative. My words are not positive either to them, it sounds critical but when I keep explaining nicely over and over it just falls on deaf ears....
