What are you buying your 3 year old for xmas (boys particularly!)?

I'm buying my 3 year old niece a day out at a waterpark. And a stocking filler (little animal stamp set) so she has something to open on xmas day.

Or if they are quite physical could you get them an annual pass for a soft play or adventure park or something like that?

My house is an absolute tip and I'm not looking forward to finding space for the new toys we're likely to end up with for our 2 year old. hence why I like to buy a gift that is more of an experience/day out type thing.

Watching intently for inspiration. My default is Duplo/Lego but it's coming out their ears at this house so can't buy more!

I'm getting my ds lego, a batman costume, books, more lego, an orchard toys game, more lego....

We are getting DD a bike. Also orchard games and dressing up outfits.

PeekabooPoo · 27/11/2017 14:30

Magformers, brio train bits, islabike

Hobbitch · 27/11/2017 14:32

A wooden puzzle that doubles up as building bricks. My son loves both.

cheesygarlicbread · 27/11/2017 14:39

What kind of lego do you all get - the lego juniors?

StorminaBcup · 27/11/2017 14:44

Last year we bought our 3 yr Old a Spider-Man costume, hot wheels race track, lego (but I really wouldn’t rush this unless you’re happy picking up tiny pieces of plastic every bloody day!!), bike, some toy cars, books (shift McGifty and Oi Frog), and some craft bits.

InDubiousBattle · 27/11/2017 16:10

Ds loves Ninjago lego but Tbh the lego juniors is better and much more manageable for this age

FergalBurgal · 27/11/2017 16:16

Balance bike, costumes...and accessories, to help him really get in to character Grin
Toy cars, stamper pen thingies, chocolate/sweets etc for stocking.

muffyduffster · 27/11/2017 16:20

I've a three year old niece and I've bought her pjs (to match my one year old 😍), an outfit from joules (also to match!) paw patrol stuff, Disney frozen figurines, a big Winnie the Pooh box of books and the angel's great escape book.

Thanks for the ideas everyone, so apart from the bikes you don't tend to get anything big? Keep them coming, it's really helpful x

Ds is will be 3.4 at Christmas.
He's getting paw patrol stuff, movi robot thingy, few things for his train set, leapfrog leapstart book thing, some beat bugs toys, orchard games, not sure what else there is as I've started wrapping and can't remember!

NoStraightEdges · 27/11/2017 18:51

I'd buy a child that age tubations

GlitteryFluff · 27/11/2017 18:51

Oh and a cardboard rocket house thingy from HobbyCraft so I can make that up for a wow present as its big but was only £7.50, as he already has a bike, scooter, kitchen, dolls house, garage etc and we don't have much room, and baby number 2 due in Jan so don't want anymore big things!

Fishcalledlola · 27/11/2017 19:02

Ds, 2 and a half has asked for a bike, a gun and a rocket. I've got him a bike, not buying a gun and thinking of getting him a big, cardboard colour-in rocket from hobbycraft with some crayons.

InDubiousBattle · 27/11/2017 19:13

Thanks for the tip-Just ordered that rocket from hobbycraft! I don't usually go near hobby craft, either the store or the website after a particularly expensive trip scarred dp for life but that's a bit of a bargain.

sanityisamyth · 27/11/2017 19:21

My DS will be 4 on 28th December so he has 2 celebrations. So far he has got:

Paw Patroller Lorry
LeapFrog LeapStart Primary School Interactive Learning System (with all the nursery books)
Personalised hoodie
2 Julia Donaldson books
A book about the body (I’m a science teacher!)
Sticker book
Card matching game

3 nights in Centre Parcs for his birthday (invited one of his friends and their parents to go too)

MoHunter · 27/11/2017 22:06

For our 3 year old DS we’ve got a Bruder crane (his main present which he asked for), we also have some extension bits for his Thomas Trackmaster train set, a Harold the helicopter, and Disney Pixar miniature cars.

MeredithShepherd · 29/11/2017 07:33

DS 3.10 (at xmas) is getting a metal wheelbarrow as his main present. I've got him some blaze and the monster machines toys, and some fairy tales books too. My mum and dad have got him a mini micro scooter and some K-nex. Other family are getting him things he's asked for, an Elsa dress, don't take busters bones game and binoculars.
