Ready made baby formula on flight??

Hi all

We are off to the Canary Islands with a 4 month old. Does anyone know if you can take ready made cow and gate bottled formula on the plane??

I am assuming this is the case but is the bottled ready made formula ok in the air? Ie bottle won't explode due to increased air pressure?

Thanks

It's absolutely fine and I've done it several times recently.

They'll check the bottles are sealed and might put them on some sort of scanner machine thing but they'll let you through with it.

The pressure isn't an issue - just be careful when you're opening them as they can spatter a little bit.

The pressure won't do anything to the bottles. But I think the pre-made sealed bottles or cartons can't exceed the 100ml limit for security which is a bit naff. Just take what you need to get you through security, order online from boots and pick it up airside once you've cleared security.

Ah ok, not sure now about the 100ml limit applying to sealed bottles of milk. Maybe check with the airport you're flying from?

You can take as much formula as you need for the flight and airport in your hand luggage. I took the 200ml cow and gate pre-made stuff. We had a fridge so took the big cartons in our hold luggage. Just bare in mind that the pre-made milk is heavy. We had to up our luggage limit. Our own fault for always using pre-made and not starting with powder.

You can take as much formula as you need. We always took premade for flights.

Get some after security. You can pre order from Boots, if the airport has one.

It seems to depend on the airport whether you can take it through with you. I have heard of folks who had theirs binned at security because it was over the 100ml. But you absolutely can buy it after security at Boots or similar. And like someone else said, you can preorder to collect from Boots as well if you don't want to take any chances.

You can take more than 100ml bottles of formula.

I flew numerous times with formula. I took premade Aptamil bottles, usually about 6-8 of them as I had long flights. We went through several airports. Ordering from the airport Boots wasn't an option for us as we live abroad. It's fine, honestly.

You can take containers of baby food as well, for future reference. On our last flight I took a massive jar of creamed rice. You can take what you need for the baby.
