What do people like to do with their children when it rains?

Well it rains a lot in England (I am not from the UK - I'm from relatively drier lands :) and sometimes we're running out of ideas of what to do. My son is e (going on 4) so what he'd probably really like to do is run about and climb on stuff. But winter (rain) seems to last 10 months here so not much choice to go outdoors. What do you usually do with your kids? What stuff do you enjoy doing?

Swimming
Soft Play
Ice skating
Climbing Wall
Putting on our wellies and going out anyway

Last weekend it poured it down. We put in waterproofs and wellies and went to the park... we were the only people there and dd had a blast splashing about.

When we got home we snuggled under a blanket on the sofa and had a cuppa 😊

The joy of finding out how fast you are sliding down a slide in waterproofs is not to be underestimated.

Haha yeah going down a slide in waterproofs - brilliant idea!

Like PPs have said, we go out anyway. Waterproofs and wellies on. Park deserted. Make sure you are ready to catch them as they fly off the end of the slide at 100mph!

Mine are just 4 (this week) and 2. We do the same things we do when it’s not raining, but with waterproofs on!

Stay in and watch TV. The dc play with their Lego/trains/other toys or they'll draw or read their books or make a den under the table.
