Baby gagging all the time

DD2 is 4 months and seems to gag all the time :

When she tries to suck her thumb
When I’ve tried to give her a dummy
When I’ve tried her with a bottle
If she takes too much boob in her mouth
When I’ve given her calpol
When she chews on her teether

She had a posterior tongue tie which has been corrected twice as the first time they didn’t get it all. I thought having it addressed would mean less gagging but if anything it’s worse!!

We won’t be weaning until 6 months but I’m worried about her gagging on all her food. We did BLW with DD1 but I just imagine that she’ll gag on everything she shoves in her mouth! I can’t remember DD1 being kind like this?

Anyone else? Is it normal?

I had one gaggy baby and one non-gaggy. Gaggy baby seemed to fair better at BLW funnily enough. She never let lumps back far enough to choke on- just gagged them back very efficiently. The gag reflex eased back as she got better at chewing. IMO a reactive gag reflex is no bad thing on balance. Protected her airway until she could handle solids wellSmile
