Has anyone got a Gro clock?

Do they work? We have a two and a half year old toddler who has decided that morning time is 5am! We are exhausted 😩 I've heard about the Gro clock but not whether to get one or not incase it's a waste of money.

I'm just about to buy one for my 5am waking DD. She's only two though so not sure if she's going to understand it just yet.

My 3.6yo came in for the first time the other day so excited that he had woken up and the sun was up on his clock. He had never seen it when he'd woken before. Never mind I'd had to put him back in his bed at 3am.
Didn't work for mine but I'm sure others would.

Yes got two kids& 2 clocks, both worked but they take time and persistence re-enforcement to crack it. The second child took longer than the first, started at 3.5yrs she took 6mths! But she started school literally as she turned 4. We had to gradually push the clock back from 5.30am and now it comes on at 6.30am but she stays in her room till 7am (we have a clock radio clock as well now she is 6).

Yes, used for both kids at about 2.4. We outright bribed them til they got the idea - a smartie if they stayed in bed til the sun came up.

Set it to the time they currently wake up so you have success immediately then move it back by 5 mins very few days.

And be ruthless in enforcing it, even 3 or 4 minutes early, take them back to bed. Lie with them if necessary and make a huge fuss about the colour changing

Yep! Ours works great on dd. Not allowed up until the sun comes up!!

We use ours religiously. We started when DD was 2.2 and were really strict with it for a couple of weeks. She got the hang of it really quickly and now I don't hear a peep from her until the sun comes up. I wouldn't be without it!

Honestly one of the best things I bought. It takes time so be prepared to go over it a lot and remind them about the clock. There's a farm story that comes with the clock that helps re-inforce the staying in bed. We genuinely read this book every night for a few weeks but the message went in and she happily stays in bed until the "sun" comes on the screen. She's now 2.4 and we had the clock since she was 2.

Worked for my kids. Set first very early ie. 5.15 then as they get used to it gradually set later and later. Make sure the blue light during the night is turned off or it can keep them awake. The key is to always take them back to bed until the light comes on in the morning, only let them up when light comes on. Consistancy is key. And lock it every night or they figure out for themselves how to stop it and turn the light on!

Worked for mine just after she turned 2 from the first day. She still wakes early sometimes but just sits and watches until it wakes up. She likes rules!

Oh that's great I wasn't expecting such positive responses. It sounds like they work for most people then. I think I will give it a go!

Worked for DS when he was just gone 3, but took a little persistence.

Totally brilliant for us - got it when dd was 17months old on the advice of a friend who said that they had waited till later but in retrospect wished they had done it earlier, and after a couple of weeks of moving her bedtime forward in 10 min chunks (from her favoured 5am waking time), it's been 7am wake ups -for me- ever since (she sometimes wakes before the sun, but always stays in bed and happilly chatters away to her toys until it is up.

Works for DS, it’s handy that you can set two different wake up times so we can get an hours lie in on the weekends!

Yes we have one for our 2.5 year old and works brilliantly. Definitely persist though in terms of behaviour/routine and make sure you keep it out of reach - big mistake for us as last weekend he managed to get up at 4am and change it from the blue star to yellow sunshine...!
