Crying 12 weeks don't understand why

My 13 weeks old used to cry half an hour a day. Suddenly since the last week he cries for everything. It's not like he is in pain. Is him being unhappy with what ever happens or is done. Changing nappy, waking up, being put down on the bed, anything. Only happy when carried around although it takes time to settle even then. It's like an emotional crying, more like shouting for not liking the situation. I'm terrified this will not stop. All I do is calming him down and carrying around all day. He co-sleeps and wakes up to feed 2-3 times.

Possibly a developmental leap?

They do go through fussy phases, especially when they're growing. How are the naps?
