Chickenpox

What's the procedure re chicken pox and 'possibly' having it...?

We were with a friend and their child this week, and their child has now come out in chicken pox spots, so chances are our DS could have picked it up too. Hope he has so we can get it over and done with!

However , we normally go to a toddler group on a Friday (tomorrow) - are we best avoiding the group just in case? There's a couple of babies there (3 months old) and obviously possibly other pregnant mums (I'm pregnant, but my mums 'pretty sure' I've had it!)

Did you see them 1 or 2 days before the spots or was it prior to that? The incubation period is 10-21 days so they wouldn't be contagious just yet if they have picked it up. They are contagious 1-2 days before the spots and until they scab over (normally 5-7 days)

@dementedpixie that's very helpful! I think the spots appeared yesterday and we saw them on Monday.
