Hello,

I've got my mum and baby check today. When you went did you take your partner with you?

Also did you have an examination to check that everything was
Okay or was it more of a talking exercise?

Thank you

I went just me and baby, dh offered but we decided he didn't need to. I didn't have an examination but did already have a follow up appointment scheduled at the hospital so don't know if they would have done one if I wasn't still under the hospital.

Don't bring him. He's not needed and it's mostly to check your stitches (if you got them) are healing and whether you have depression and are sorted for contraception. The baby check is quick and minor. He'll be like a spare tool.

DH came because I was not able to drive yet and I wanted support talking dr about concerns I had about DD (later diagnosed with reflux and CMPA). I had two separate appointements with two different GP and DH did not come into my check.

My babies were briefly checked over, I was asked if I was ok and then the whole appointment was about contraception.
In and out in 15 mins max

Dh took us as I was recovering from a section and had gallstones, unable to drive.

They checked my section scar, lots of talking. Check of dd, weight, length, examined her birth marks that had appeared. Talked about feeding, bowels, etc.

It was thorough but all helpful and positive.

My husband came just as I was still recovering from emcs and wasn't able to drive yet, but if I was more healed there would have been no point in him being there
