Please share your tips on how you get your three year old to bed!

DS has had a busy day being at a family party all day he's had dinner, bath and then normally goes to bed for the last two weeks he's become awful at going to bed. Nothing in his routine has changed he's always had the same routine.

DD is 3.5 and went through a fairly lengthy phase of not wanting to go to bed, saying she wasn't tired.

We went with ensuring her room was safe and fairly boring and telling her she didn't have to sleep but she did have to stay in her room. She wasn't a fan at first but stopped all the hungry/thirsty/need blanket just so requests. She'd potter for up to an hour and then either conk out on the floor or put herself to bed, or ask for one last cuddle.

She's thankfully grown out of it and is asleep much sooner.
