My DS2 is a very heavy wetter and now 4 weeks old, try a bamineo/wam bamboo, if you buy the size 2 nippa version you can use them up to potty training, just fold down the front and cross the tabs over before securing with the nippa.

Bimbles could be good, it has a booster which you can front fold for a boy AND a pocket which you could stuff with a micro fibre cloth for a bot more absorancy IF you need it. Should fit to about 15lb .
If hes a big lad youu could go straight for Bumbles , similar but bigger and teh booster is poppered as its generally too bulky for newborns, but the nappy folds in on itself to reduce size and ad extra padding at teh front- just right for a boy. add microfibre in pocket if you need to again.
Both from easypeasy nappies, made in UK (IIRC), sold by thenappylady among others.

Piffle I am using baby beehinds bamboo - they seem quite good, but take a long time to dry. I can lend you one if you want to try it ?

snugglebumnappies · 06/04/2007 09:57

I love the baby beehinds bamboo, the hempversion is also good and a bit qucker to dry if thats an issue. Laidback, do you use any other bamboo nappies? if so how do you find drying time compares to the baby beehinds?

maisiemog · 06/04/2007 10:38

You could also look at one of the nature babies nappies, the lovable, it is like a diddy diaper which fits up to around 18lbsish - the wings are long so they last a fair time.
There is a bamboo version and a microfibre version - for faster drying.
bamboo version
microfibre version
As far as I can see there is a booster provided with the bamboo version or as an option with the microfibre version, and there is also a pocket for extra boosting.
I noticed on Cumfy bumfy you could just buy the microfibre version with no additional booster for £5.50 or buy the insert as well for another £2.
I was thinking you could buy the basic version and just put cheapo microfibre towels - the Lidl pack of three microfibre towels are excellent, quite robust and very absorbent.
Has anyone tried yet???

maisiemog · 06/04/2007 10:41

Oh I forgot to say, the size 2 lovable can be used as a birth to potty.

Piffle · 06/04/2007 11:37

laidbakc thanks very much, are you sure that would be ok
I coudl try it then if it was ok, order some and send you a new one back?

i used a bambineo when my ds had his longest nap and it holds alot of fluid if your a fan of shaped nappies, alot more than a normal terry. Im a pocket lover myself and generally just super pad/boost the pocket. My ds was a super weer asa newborn and i did revert to sposies or we would go through a dozen a day and my washer would have keeled over! Since 3 month old we have managed to get away with 5 a day give or take if we mis time a poo!

Flamesparrow · 06/04/2007 13:20

Bambineo lover here too

LaidbackinEngland · 06/04/2007 13:34

Piffle - no worries - email your address and I will shove one in the post. I bought far, far too many - louisearscott at hotmail.com

LaidbackinEngland · 06/04/2007 13:35

Snuggle - haven't tried any other bamboo ones ....yet

nappyzone · 06/04/2007 16:51

Flamesparrow · 06/04/2007 17:34

Tie dye ones and everythin

littlekiwibaby · 07/04/2007 01:06

you could always try one of our quick flips- they were designed to cope with our heavy wetters and are available in bamboo. Feedback shows they are absorbent and, in bamboo, are slim enough to boost without becoming over bulky?

snugglebumnappies · 07/04/2007 07:55

Littlekiwi do you wholesale them?

littlekiwibaby · 07/04/2007 09:15

Looking into the logistics at the moment- time etc LOL.

Would just like to add that DD used to leak after about an hour in her Totsbots when she was tiny - but I later discovered it was the wraps wicking through to her clothes. I switched to Motherease Airflow, and there were no more problems )

PS I now use Totsbots Bamboozles, which I really like.

Piffle · 07/04/2007 11:59

oooh so much choice
where do I find all these nappies?
