  1. I stick DD in front of Baby TV to get the housework done and come on MN
  2. Sometimes I can't be arsed to make her food and just give her jars
  3. Sometimes I BF her when she doesn't need it just so I can sit down and read "Heat"
  4. Even though I breastfeed, I drink wine and eat peanuts
  5. Sometimes I can't be bothered to get DD dressed and leave her in a sleepsuit all day long.

Is there a special circle in hell reserved for mummies like me?

You sound like a perfect Mner

NOTCADBURYCremeSquonk · 05/04/2007 09:55

oh god, you mean all those things are wrong

Carmenere · 05/04/2007 09:55

You are perfectly normal love, although undoubtably some uptight mummy will come along and indulge in a good old 'judge' at your expense. Be sure to ignore her when it happens

Have just re-read my post and the pedant in me wants to go back and add the question mark that I forgot first time round.

?

here it is

ViscountessLittleEasterLapin · 05/04/2007 09:58

God, I can't BELIEVE you. What sort of parent are you?!!!!

Baby TV?! Stick her in front of Trisha like everyone else!

Boco · 05/04/2007 09:58

I've done all those too (although not heat, something more highbrow, like the tv guide)

My 4 year old has recently changed my 2 year olds nappy as i was on mn.

Jessicatmagnificat · 05/04/2007 10:01

LOL at all these replies. But how come no other mums that I meet will admit to any of this? It's my secret shame. :O

i was off doing some cleaning t'other day, left the dcs watching Pingu on On D4mand. Came back in half an hour later, Pingu had finished and they were thoroughly absorbed in a talk show about transvestites!

Lazycow · 05/04/2007 10:12

gemmiegoat - I've done that. We tape stuff on the digibox for ds to watch. He is absorbed by it and I get so busy I sometimes come back to find therecording has finished to him watching something that is shall we say hmmm unsuitable for a 2 year old

Note to self - Always have the cbeebies channel on even if we are playing a recording.

EasterChickenBunny · 05/04/2007 10:13

Ah, I've found my kindred spirits at last

EasterChickenBunny · 05/04/2007 10:15

I'm the mum who has been known to put a 'Baby Beethoven' DVD on 'repeat play' to get things done.

ViscountessLittleEasterLapin · 05/04/2007 10:16

We call Baby Einstein "Baby Prozac" because it has a totally mesmeric effect on DS

EasterChickenBunny · 05/04/2007 10:17

Baby Valium to us

emat · 07/04/2007 10:25

I did an illustration recently for an article on mum's forums which pretty acurately describes my parenting. I put it in my profile.

Mum used to throw us out in the garden when we were small and tell us to only come in if we were bleeding. I'm sure if Nickjr had been around she would have parked us in front of that.

dionnelorraine · 07/04/2007 10:31

He,he! Sounds all very normal to me! I wouldnt worry about it. When my dd was little she used to stay in her sleep suit all day if I wasnt going out. And I used to feed her jar food half the time. Its not an issue.

dionnelorraine · 07/04/2007 10:36

Oh, and I do the TV thing too!

Trinityrhino · 07/04/2007 10:38

well I think I win
the tv is on all day (not alwasy kids progs)
dd2 has been known to drink lemonade out of a bottle
the kids have had biscuits for brekkie once in a blue moon
dd2 is currently nappyless
I've just eaten a whole big box of maltesers
I put Gecko to sleep on her side last night
I never iron
...and I've never seen the picture at the bottom of my laundry basket

MiaWallace · 07/04/2007 10:40

pmsl at your picture emat. It's brilliant.

dionnelorraine · 07/04/2007 10:51

Nope, I dont iron either! Much more important things to be getting on with! Like MN!!

Carmenere · 07/04/2007 10:54

Great pic emat

Frascati · 07/04/2007 10:57

I lay in bed until 10 and let them watch tv and get their own breakfast. Lazy moo that I am.

Hilllary · 07/04/2007 10:58

OOh Terrible mummy

emat · 07/04/2007 11:03

thanks MW and Carmenere- course now I'll never be able to post anything about AP.

HaggisSupper · 07/04/2007 11:06

The Wiggles are on so often in our house that even my 11 month old dd can do some of the actions to the songs.

It does allow me to sit with a cup of coffee and the paper for a while though

paddingtonbear1 · 07/04/2007 11:09

I've not seen the bottom of my ironing pile for about a year. And that was when dh did it cos I can't stand ironing!
Never did baby TV when dd was v small, was always Trisha!
When dd was small she was always in babygros. Could never be bothered with little outfits!
