Extra health visitor review

Dd has been asked back to the health visitor when she'll be 12 months to 'review her gross motor skills'. That's all the letter says. Is this common? Does it mean there were red flags at her 9 month check?

Possibly, but maybe it's just the next routine check? Why not give them a call? I think the only 9 month milestone is sitting without support.

Thank you. I've read over the 9 month review notes and the score actually was very low for this category and it says we would have a review in a few months. I don't remember this being mentioned, but I can see the need for it now. She was having some trouble sitting unaided, but is fine now. Hopefully her score will have improved enough not to be a concern.

All of mine have been super slow with their gross motor skills and I'm sure would have been recalled at 9 months (we don't get that check in our area, it's 6 weeks then 12 months). If she's sitting well now then that's good. Hope it all goes ok.

We got recalled three times wth my second. She was very late at walking and still had quite a big fontenelle. Hv said it was easier to keep her in the 'loop' than for me to have to ring if she started missing major milestones.

She didn't miss any major milestones!!!

Why don't you call and ask.
There have the definite answer which we can't give you.
Jeez.

LoopThehoop - don't be so rude.

Katy - thanks.
Loop - as I said in my second post, I know the reason. I mainly wanted to know if it was common.
cedoren - agreed!
