Sex after baby?

Hi there

Just a quick question

I was very lucky to be blessed with my baby boy just over two weeks ago and had a completely normal delivery and didn't tear or need stitches etc.

My bleeding has stopped for three days now.

I was just wondering if it's a must that I stick to the six weeks before having sex ? My hormones are raging embarrassingly and I'm very eager.?

I know to be safe of course - any advice?

Hehe! I was exactly the same. We waited 3 weeks but I had a c section. I think as long as you feel ready and fit enough then go for it!

Ps. My son is also Noah ! X

So long as it feels good and you are properly lubricated, I say go for it. Obviously, if you feel any kind of discomfort, you should stop immediately.

Some doctors advise dtd before your 6 week check so go get jiggy 😂

ForgetAboutSleep · 08/09/2017 20:51

As you said, remember to use some sort of protection! (Unless you want another straight away...) I know so many people who have gone to their 6 week check already pregnant because they didn't realise it could happen that early.

BikeRunSki · 08/09/2017 20:53

I said this on a thread recently. There was a lady on my post natal ward who DTD when her baby was about 3 hrs old!

on the ward Shock

Personally I wouldn't - remember there will still be healing internally from where your placenta detached from your womb- that's why they advise 6 weeks.

MiaD13 · 08/09/2017 20:58

Thanks everyone for your advice !

I definitely don't need another LO ATM so the condoms will be coming out !

I'll maybe try some lighter stuff before full blown intercourse but I appreciate all the support !

**Bikeskyrun I couldn't think of anything worse!

12 days post section here. Would have been much earlier but I felt I needed to get the ok from a midwife first. Even though it was a section, it still weirdly really hurt though (and bit my tummy!), so don't be surprised if it's a bit sore still.

applecatchers36 · 08/09/2017 23:29

Obvs take advice from the midwife about your individual circumstances but we did it 2 weeks after, both times, vaginal birth, midwife just said when you feel ready.

Branleuse · 08/09/2017 23:31

I did it (gently) even earlier than that and it was ok. Like you i was hormonal and very eager

BellyBean · 09/09/2017 08:36

I've had advice to dtd befor 6 week check so you can discuss any problems with them in the appt

elQuintoConyo · 09/09/2017 11:33

Seething with jealousy here. Just dtd here with, finally, no pain. DS is 5.9 YEARS old Shock

MiaD13 · 10/09/2017 21:31
