Bedtime for 3 yr old

I have always put ds down for as near to 7pm as possible. Now he's 3 I wonder if a slightly later bedtime might be better? It's taking him a while to drop off to sleep and we have a bit of messing around. What time is recommended/best?

My 3.5 year old goes to bed between 6.30 and 7 and is always asleep within 15 minutes. He is up for the day around 6am

7pm here too, although it's usually closer to 7.30 after stories and teeth! Is up at 7am

Mine went to bed at or before 7 until they were about 6 years old!

Whatever works for your family. My 2yo goes to bed between 8.30 and 9.

7pm here. It can push to 7.30 if I'm late with bath time/he wants an extra gazillion stories because granny's here, but he doesn't nap now so 7 seems right. He goes to 6.45/7 usually.

My DS is coming up for 3 and his bedtime had been creeping back to almost 8pm as he was still wide awake. However now that he is dropping his afternoon naps, he's in bed at 7.30pm. He usually wakes between 6.30am and 7am.

I don't know if it's 'best' but at 3, ours went to bed around 7:30-8pm. But for no reason other than that's what time we could manage after getting home from work at 5, cooking and eating dinner, getting upstairs for a bath. Earlier would have been impossible for us. That has worked well enough, but they do go through these phases and it has nothing to do with bedtime really. The only thing I would say is if he was still napping, cut that out, but I suspect he probably isn't with that bedtime.

7pm for our 3.5 year old. He's usually ready to sleep then and gets up between 6:30 and 7am.

Mine went at 7pm till they were 7

Bathtime after CBeebies ends, in bed by 7.30 asleep either immediately of 8pm ish depending on how tired DD is. She has to be woken at 7am.

Puppymouse · 08/09/2017 12:48

7pm here too. She's up between 6.30 and 7.30 usually. She wouldn't last much later!

Does he have a nap? My 3 yr old goes to bed between 6.30 and 7.30 depending on how busy a day we have had. He hasn't napped for months although will occasionally fall asleep late afternoon in the car.
