Does this seem right for 8 weeks old?

DS is 8 weeks old tomorrow. Feeding pattern is slightly different each day as we haven't yet established a solid routine, but he's having a 6oz bottle roughly every 4 hours, he's on formula.
He's started sleeping through the night, I give him a bottle at 11pm & he's been going through until about 6am (for the past few nights).
Not had him weighed for a few weeks as the HV hasn't been, but last time he was weighed he was spot on & now he feels/looks like he's putting on weight & he generally seems to be doing well.
I know this is all probably great, I guess I'm just worried that he's eating too much/not eating enough, sleeping too long without a feed, too big/not big enough - I don't really have a clue!
Does what I've described sound 'right' for an 8 week old baby?
FTM so I worry about EVERYTHING!

I don't know much about formula but at 8 weeks there won't be a solid routine, it'll still be changing. If you want reassurance about weight is there a weigh in clinic near you?

I go with the notion that if he seems hungry, feed him. If not don't. If you need reassure, could you speak to your HV or attend baby clinic? FWIW, my son is 6 months old and we're still not in a strict routine and pretty much feed on demand.

You're doing a wonderful job so far, and congrats on your little boy Smile Flowers

Thanks for your replies.

I'm scared of going to the weigh in clinic! No idea why, think I'm just nervous because I've not been before & don't know what to do when I get there - completely ridiculous, & I know I should just bite the bullet & go! That will be my challenge for next week!

I know we've been very lucky so far re: the sleeping, I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts but it feels a bit too good to be true! As in, he shouldn't really be going that long without a feed. But like you say, I'm sure he will soon let us know when he's hungry so I'll just go with it for now.

Routine-wise - he's pretty much like clockwork wanting a bottle every 3-4 hours, but depending on when he sleeps/wakes depends on what time his feeds are, so no 2 days are the same IYSWIM. I'm fine with this, it can just become a bit tricky when making plans to go out & trying to factor in when he'll want a bottle. Lots of people have reassured me that no routine at this stage is fine & the norm, but then other people seem a bit Hmm that I don't have set feeding times.

I'm just going to go with what I'm doing for now as it seems to be working fine for DS - I just get so scared sometimes that I'm doing it all wrong!
