At the weekend my DP, DC and I went to a local event, Summer show sort of thing with car boot sale stalls, trader stalls and children's rides.
I like to look at the car boot type stalls while DP and DC go round much faster. I catch up with them at the roundabout and I see that DP has bought two Frozen dolls from a trader, they come new in a box.
We get home and open them and I can tell from the quality of the printing on the box and the quality of the dolls that they are fake, as in, not official Disney merchandise. The two dolls have cheap looking dresses, no boots, and they both have a red plastic heart on their chests, like a necklace, when you press the heart they play a tinny version of 'Let it go'. My DD, just gone 3, also has a Anna, red haired one, bought from a toy shop so is the real thing and much better quality.
I can't believe my sensible DP got conned into buying these fake dolls, conned by our DD and the stall holder, I saw the stall where he got it, it looked full of cheap, poor quality stuff. They cost 18 euro.
What bothers me is the fact they're fake, something to do with licensing. I can't help thinking of the dodgy DVD market - they are only made as people buy them, if no one bought them they wouldn't exist.
I'm an adult toy collector, my DP and I met through a club for adults who collect a certain toy. I'm very big on buying second hand toys rather than new all the time, sorry, I'm waffling - just trying to explain, I know my toys and what is good, real quality.
Please, someone, tell me to unclench.
