We started over the bank holiday weekend. We had prepped DD for ages by talking about saying goodbye to nappies, getting knickers, using the potty etc. She is ft at nursery and several of her friends have been out of nappies for a while. She was very excited about getting knickers, is often dry at night, so we thought it was time.

She started really well, doing several wees and poos in the potty in the first days, as well as some accidents. At nursery this week she has been making it to the potty about 50% of the time, which I thought was great for the first week.

Then yesterday she was a bit poorly and off nursery, and she suddenly started saying she didn't want to go on the potty. She actually held wee in for 10 hours sooner than go and only had accidents. Same this morning.

Where have we gone wrong? What to do????

It can throw them off when they are sick. DS withheld wee too - all day! I didn't think it was possible, but he was doing it because he was constipated.

Naturally when I brought him to the OOH GP as instructed by the triage nurse, we waited for 5 mins then he did a massive wee in the toilet there. Hmm

Orange juice works wonders on DS to keep his bowels moving nicely.

Keep at it, it's just a temporary setback. Don't scold for accidents or voice disappointment, just cheerfully clean it up and don't let her get upset about them. She'll get there Smile
