Hi mummies

My little one is teething she 4 months old, we have tried most teething gels, rings, cooled down rings and abasol liquid seems to help to allow her to take less of a bottle but still something, my question is can I give calpol or ibuprofen I have heard works well, but I know teething can go on for weeks and there is maximum dose in 24 hours so how does it work can I keep giving it for weeks.. Sorry if I sound dumb. How do you give it to your little one

Don't give for weeks, just give the odd dose when nothing else is working. Ibuprofen can work better then calpol, but you can alternate.

Try other methods during the day, distraction, cold cloth/dummy etc, but save the actual analgesia until bedtime to help her get a decent night's sleep when it's bad

If she's particularly bad, get her checked out for throat or ear infections too.

As PP said I generally save calpol/ibuprofen for bedtime if nothing else is working. During the day I distract distract distract (if possible). On a bad week he might have calpol 3 nights before sleep and then he can go another few weeks before its bad again. Checked with doctor and they said its better for them to sleep through the pain so if it will help them sleep then go for it.

Have you tried teething powders? Sometimes the powder and bonjela or anbesol can be enough before bedtime.
