Are you giving cooled boiled water?

I'm in the South and today has been a scorcher. My baby is breast and formula fed but more formula. Should I be giving her some cooled boiled water on top of feeds? She's 6 weeks old. I know guidelines say if baby exclusively breastfed then you don't need to, but I'm wondering being that she's combination fed. She's in the coolest room but is very warm and is only in her nappy with a muslin covering her. Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

If you think she needs it then go ahead. Maybe good to offer it and see what she does x

What does the formula box say? I can't remember if it mentions it or not.

Mine was a newborn during a heatwave last summer and we also combination fed (more formula) and I didn't give water. It just fills them up and makes them take less formula.

I kept mine stripped down in just a nappy and kept the house cool. If outside stay in the shade. If she's being really fussy or drowsy you could try but otherwise I wouldn't. Your call though and I think very much a personal decision.

I live in the Middle East and never gave my ff baby water. Formula is almost entirely water anyway

Thanks all. She got particularly fussy at one point and I offered the water. She made the most hilarious face and flatly refused so I don't think she needed it!
