10 day old feeding every 2 hours

My little one is 10 days old and has today been having 4oz of formula every 1.5hours to 2 hours and hasn't poo'd since 1am this morning. Is this a growth spurt? She's been having plenty of wet nappies though. Thanks

At that age it's best to feed on demand. My two were hungry babies. They soon get into a routine. You can google growth spurt ages! I'm pretty sure I remember around 10 days being one!

I just realised I sound blunt, sorry. My daughter went through a spell of this. You may find after another day or two she will stop feeding so often 😊

Pretty sure there's a growth spurt around then. She will need all that extra milk to pile on the weight. It's tough on you though Flowers

I wouldn't fret about the poo. My DD didn't go every day as a newborn. If she hasn't been after a few days or starts to show signs of straining then speak to someone.

HV told me that there's a growth spurt at around 10 days old, and again at 6 weeks CakeBrew

Hello. Newborn babies have extremely tiny tummies. About big enough to hold a teaspoon of milk. Nature designed human infants to feed constantly in the early days and indeed months. So rather than a growth spurt i would see that as totally normal.

MonkeyBrainsInPickle · 24/08/2017 21:41

It's normal for a baby of that age to feed every two hours. Mine fed that often until quite a bit older than that,

theancientmarinader · 24/08/2017 21:42

Sounds really normal.
Ds1 fed every 2 hrs 24/7 until he was 10 months old. Fortunately the girls were more cooperative and let me sleep or eat occasionally Grin

skyzumarubble · 24/08/2017 21:42

Entirely normal.

Thanks everyone. FTM so I'm constantly googling stuff lol
