DD hates father

I don't understand why DD hates her dad so much, he never did anything very wrong. Maybe just a bit annoying sometimes and some unfunny jokes but that's hardly the end of the world. DD doesnt like to watch tv when he is in the room, and last night he talked over the TV to me for about 2 sentences then she lost her temper altogether. Normally she is a smart sensible girl but not when it comes to him. she tries to avoid him, but that make him want to talk to her even more. It was not like that when she was a kid, he used to take the kids to the swimming pool and they loved it. This anger towards him has been there for the last few years, and I thought she was going to grow out of it. I don't understand, please help.

I know it sounds a bit obvious but have you tried asking her? Not in a confrontational way, but in a mild, objective way. "I've noticed some tension towards your dad and wondered if we could talk about it..." To me, it sounds like something is not right there, and there might be an underlying cause you can root out.
