Feeling sad

My dp usually goes to bed before i do and when he does my 2 elder children appear and sit down to talk to me just general chat but last night when dp had gone to bed i asked my eldest why she waits till dad goes to bed and she said because dad always puts me down when shes discussing the latest book shes read or something on her phone. She doesnt know why her dad acts this way any advice?

Well does he? If so that's awful and needs to be addressed asap

Hi there yes i have witnessed the put downs especially with our 10 year old daughter.

Yes he has more so i the past put me down.

Have you spoken to him about this? For most parents saying 'you realise that dd waits until you've gone to bed to talk to me because you put her and me down so much' would be pretty eye opening. Dp would be absolutely devastated if he thought our kids would ever feel that way.

My daughter just said to me last night so no i havent said anything to him yet .

God that's so awful 😔 he sounds abusive. Do you feel like you can talk to him about it?
