Kids diet over summer holidays

Anyone else finding that thier kid's diet has gone a bit to pot over the summer hols? We've had a stream of days out, play dates and birthday parties which have meant my kids are having WAAAY more junk foodie treats than usual... I don't want to be too uptight about it - and they're really active and still getting thier 5 a day etc alongside it- but I don't want them falling into too many bad habits... Anyone in the same boat? Any strategies to combat it?

We've just been away and DD seemed to spend her entire holiday money on sweets. We just make sure that she eats good meals at home and does lots of teeth brushing Smile

The food on offer at days out don't really help do they? Your best bet is take a picnic of healthier options and try and steer clear of the canteens. Obviously give them the odd treat as life is too short to be strict all the time about food.

Birthday parties can't be helped though!!
