Okay my dd 10 month was moaning I never knew what was wrong so I attempted to feed her some spaghetti hoops and she was eating then she vomited up everything like it never digested her porridge from this morning was there I could smell the yogurt she had for a snack and her lunch was in there (sorry TMI) about 30 mins ago this happened.... what should I do ?? Is she hungry now her stomach is empty?? Should I attempt to feed her ?? She's been sipping on some lime water to kill the bacteria in her stomach if it's a belly ache but I'm really not sure where to go now :(

Don't give anything right now. I've never heard of lime water killing bacteria but it's good she's taking fluids. If she seems hungry later then bland foods would be best. I normally start with toast

She seems very moaning like maybe she has a stomach pain

I'd carry on giving her bottles/milk as normal and give some cooled boiled water. Possibly offer some toast in an hour or so if she keeps fluids down.

She doesn't drink that much bottles anymore cause she's on food she only has two bottles a day so you mean when she hungry give her a bottle instead of food ??

I wouldn't give food at all, just Offer water and see how she goes through the night. They can go ages without food but make sure she stays hydrated.

bastedyoungturkey · 03/08/2017 18:39

Is she having formula or cows milk? Could offer formula - see what she'll take.

Finola1step · 03/08/2017 18:40

For now, just water. See if it stays down.

princessachica · 03/08/2017 18:42

So do I shouldn't feed her food...?just give her water if she starts moaning it will means she is hungry and I'll give her a formula bottle

Try giving toddler magic tea to your baby. My son had the same problem and remedy worked for us!

princessachica · 03/08/2017 19:31

Magic tea?

My baby did this a few weeks ago. Huge sick of 24 hours of undigested food. Was fine in morning. I started on plain dry foods.

Current advice is to give food and drink as normal IF they want it. Restricting food does not shorten the illness or stop vomiting. That said, it's okay if she doesn't want food and blander food might be better tolerated. The really important thing is hydration. Small regular sips of fluids will be better absorbed than a big drink in one go.

Keep an eye on hydration and plenty of tlc. If in doubt seek medical attention. Hope she's better soon.

Thankyou all much appreciated

Look up the BRAT diet if you want to give food. Think it's bananas, rice, apple, toast. I'm sure there's other things you can give too, e.g. Crackers etc but in all likelihood for now she's unlikely to feel that hungry.

The BRAT diet is nolonger recommended. Just offer simple food if she wants it.

Put a few towels underneath her sheet before bed so if she is sick during the night it is easier to clean up.
