What toys did/do your baby love at 5-6 months old?

I'm looking around for some toys for my little boy. He's just about 5 months old but I want to pick some up when I go into town in a few weeks. It's only now he's starting to 'do' stuff. He has a musical playmat which he enjoys, and we've got him a jumparoo in the sale (not yet used) but I'm looking for smaller toy suggestions, especially ones he can start to handle as his grasp is starting to improve.

Me! Next best was bouncer. Also loved staring at baby books - black and white ones.

Rattles

Taggie blankets

Anything he can hold and chew

Anything with flashing lights

Lamaze do some lovely pram toy characters. We have the dragon - it flaps! Grin attach to pram, playmat, car seat. So many different colours and textures, DS has loved it from 4ish months. Now 6 months and still loves it!

Biros!
Clothes pegs!
Catfood biscuits!
Milk bottle lids!
Cardboard boxes!

Ah that's a lovely age.

We have the Lamaze flappy dragon here, DD still thinks it's the best thing ever (9months).
Other than that anything that crinkles or has tags on (bonus points for both).

Anything that can be held in baby's hand and is noisy!
We bought some hand held instruments, rattle, clanger and shaker from a toy shop that my little one loves.
I created a ball pond by buying a small paddling pool and balls separately, it was good sitting up practise and a useful distraction!
I'm going to buy one of the rolling balls which flash and play sounds the to help encourage my daughter to crawl.

My dd was utterly unimpressed by the flappy dragon.
She did love her soft light up beetbo and her roll and crawl ball though.
They were both useful in getting her crawling
