Would you say it was normal for 6 year old to not be able to wipe own bum after number 2? And not even attempting to do it themselves?

My dd2 who has just turned 7 yo, hss bern wiping her own bum since she was 3 yo ad she started nursery and had to do it herself.

My 6 yr old dd can wipe on her own. If it is a bit messy for any reason she might call me to help but most of the time she does this independently.

My 6yo ds is very lazy with wiping op. Capable but lazy.

My 6 year old can wipe but we always check as he's not always that skilful at it. Getting better though.

My ds was 6 in January and I posted this exact same question! Most replies were from people saying he was taking the mickey and to tell him I wouldn't do it any more. Took a few days of him sitting there for 20 mins or so shouting, but I'm very stubborn and didn't back down. So glad as he's been wiping independently ever since.

My 6yo has been wiping independently since 4, fwiw.

My 3yr old tries but I wipe after just to make sure as he's not great but the only way they will learn is by practice. Does he say why he can't do it?
Personally I would do the same as I do to mine, they have to try themselves first. Refuse to let him off the toilet until he's wiped, you can always wipe after to begin with. Unless there is underlying issues I'd guess he's just lazy and knows you will do it for him so why would he bother

My 6 year old can, but takes ages, grumbles the duration and often uses nearly half a roll of paper a time Hmm
