My kids are obsessed with chocolate

My kids are 8 and 10. They had a big slab of chocolate each and they wanted some after dinner. I said ok, it's got to last you the week so up to you how much you have tonight. Ten minutes later and they've both eaten the lot.

I've got a history of eating disorders and I have no idea if that's normal or not? I try not to restrict anything and let them make their own food choices. But then I felt like I should intervene as no kid should eat a huge bar of chocolate like that in one go surely?! I can't tell if I'm overreacting or not because of my own issues, that I'm trying very hard not to pass onto them.

Course it's normal. I can't believe you left them to it!! Kids have no self control where chocolate is concerned!

When I was a kid I loved chocolate and could eat a massive bar in one go. You kids are normal let them enjoy there treat. As long as it's not everyday it's fine.

At that age I would have scoffed the whole bar and then sulked for the rest of the week about how unfair it was that I didn't have any chocolate left and that it wasn't my faultGrin

Thanks. Food is such a pain in the arse with me I wasn't sure if I was totally overanalysing. Which I was Smile

Will you give them more chocolate though or will you say for the next week eat some of the bar they had today?
