Overprescribed Vitamins

Can you please settle an argument ? Our doctor has overprescribed the vitamins for our twins. The dithering doctor has prescribed one child Folic Acid 2ml once daily (7 times the normal dose) and child 2 he gave 2 5ml Folic Acid twice daily (35 times the normal dose). How can the doctor come to two incorrect doses? Is this malpractice and any ideas who we should report this too?

GP or doctor at a hospital? Ask the relevant organisation what the procedure is for complaints. PALS I think can help if it's a hospital based doctor, not sure about GPs.

Should have said it was our GP. Apparently he completes his prescriptions at home.

It could have been an auto correct from the computer system. The have quick codes so it makes typing the directions faster eg ef brings up every fortnight and was often meant to be of.
Have you queried it with the gp?
Is it from a consultant letter / do you have access to the correct dose you are meant to be giving your children?
I would not necessarily say it was malpractice but I would definitely query it with the Dr in question.
The practice will have a complaints procedure to an external body that you can follow up if you wish and will give you details of this if you request them.
