Baby tummy, poos & sore bum

Hi.
Over the last 24 hours my baby seems to have a bit of a tummy on her. It's making strange noises & she is doing a serious amount of tiny runny poos.
She has therefore ended up with an extremely sore red bun & is crying when she does a poo & when I try to clean her. I am so upset myself. She's not totally off her food & im cleaning her with water @ cotton wool. Any advice on how else I can help her? I'm keeping a close eye & not let her sit in her poos. TIA

Have you tried Metanium cream? Usually sorts out any soreness Smile

She's 8 months.

My DS is very prone to nappy rash. Metanium cream is great. Lots of nappy free time to air it out. Change nappies as much as possible. Baths seemed to help too, just plain water.

Also depending on what she's eating, maybe a day with just milk or plain food like toast, cereal etc. Less fruit or anything that can make her stomach/bum worse. Make sure she's still taking plenty of milk and water so she's not dehydrated.

Thanks caterina.
I took her to the doc yesterday & she has a tummy bug hence the constant tiny poos which are not giving her bumchance to clear. She was prescribed a steroid cream for it.

This is going on since Sunday so I'm getting a bit worried about it now.

Yes it's horrible. There's not much you can do while they still have a bad tummy, just be super vigilant and try to keep on top of it and hopefully once the poo gets better then the bum will heal.

Not that it helps this time, but as my DS seems v prone to nappy rash, at the slightest hint of a rash I'm straight in there with the metanium and increased nappy changes. It's not nice.

That's for reassurance caterina. I feel like here's something I'm not doing, it's so upsetting watching her get so upset everyone she does a little poo. She's screaming when I'm changing her. Doesn't want to be cleaned with the pain. But luckily I'm home all day so I'm definitely keeping on top of it. The amount of nappies we are going through is off the scale 😀. I'll have to look for that cream. Thanks.

If the diahorrea continues for more than 10 day then seek jour GP's advice about going lactose free for a period of time.

So I had my baby in the hospital at the weekend being checked. They couldn't find anything wrong really. Said she may have a case of gastroenteritis. But she is still pooing constantly. Just tiny little poos all day & at night. Her backside is all broken & sore. The steroid cream they gave me has worked a bit but I expected more. She has started to eat a little more than what she was. But I'm not sure if that's a good thing.
Can anyone give me peace of mind here. Anyone experience anything similar? This is going on 8 days now.
