Potty training number 2's

DD has been dry by day for 2-3 months now (she's now 33 months old) but can't bring herself to poo in the potty or toilet. She doesn't have accidents - she knows when she needs to poo, and tells me, but when I put her on the potty/toilet she gets really upset and keeps crying and trying to stand up and telling me she's finished. Then I let her off the potty and 2 mins later she says she needs to go again.

This continues until, either:
a) the urge passes and she no longer needs to go, or
b) I put a nappy on her and she poos straight away in the nappy.

We have tried putting a nappy on her and then sitting her on the potty (with a nappy on) to try and get her used to the position, but she doesn't want to do even that.

I think she's just gotten so used to doing a poo in a nappy while standing up, that anything else feels unnatural.

I know this is a common problem, but her aversion seems to be extreme. Any advice, please?

Time and patience. It feels weird to them after pooing in nappies for so long.

Dr Ranj has a good poo song, check out the contipation episode which we watched a few times and the song was something we would sing on the potty. Also poo goes to pooland app on your phone.

DD was confidently doing poos in potty about 4 months after wees. Hindered slightly by my wrong reaction early on - I learnt the hard way what not to do.

What was the wrong reaction, may I ask? (I tend to get very frustrated with her after an hour of to-and-fro'ing and end up shouting why can't you just do it?? )

At least you know she CAN do it which has got to be a bonus.
Both my DSs were dry but just pooed on the floor with no apparent awareness at all for quite a few weeks after being dry Confused
