Emergency nappy during toilet training?

Hi, just wondered if anyone could help with this. We started toilet training on Monday and apart from one accidental wee in clothes the (weeing) experience has been positive. We haven't had a poo yet though and tomorrow morning I have to take DS (aged 3.5) to look round his new preschool. I'm worried he will have a poo-related accident while there but would it be a disaster for the progress we have made so far to put him in a nappy for the hour we are there? He is still in a nappy at night but has stayed dry during daytime naps. Any advice gratefully received.

Could you put underpants on then nappy on top?

We did nappy at nursery for a while after she was dry at home. Didn't cause us any problems - she seemed to get that a different approach was ok sometimes. I think maybe we did pull-ups at nursery actually, just so it was more like wearing knickers! I think that's way preferable to a poo accident - that can really set you back.

Thanks for the replies - yes, was thinking of some kind of pants and nappy hybrid! I would try pull ups but they irritated him last time I did, plus he's a Pampers size 7 and I don't think they do them in that size.
