I have a two year old. Mornings are toddler group 3 days a week other two are zoo

She has lunch at 12 naps around 1 till 2.30.

But afternoons are a struggle we have dinner at 5 so need to be home by 4.30.

And although that's not long between 2.30 and 4.30 only two hours they are the friggin longest ever

Playdoh is played with for ten mins, paddling pool is up but she gets to hot outside

Park is ok but again not all the time

I really need some suggestions please

I know what you mean OP and I work full time so only have this dilemma on weekends. Some stuff I do with DS:

  • errands (e.g. walk to pharmacy to pick up a prescription, go to shop for bread) - lots of chatting about what we're doing, so he's learning about daily tasks
  • visit to the library (we've got a nice kids area in ours)
  • play in the garden (if not raining) if you have one, park if not
  • visit family/friends - they love to see DS and I get to drink an entire cup of tea
  • singing and dancing in living room. We're into action songs at the moment.
  • Chores! My DS likes to 'help' with things at the moment and chores take longer with him helping but a chore gets done that you'd otherwise need to do when DS is in bed and you'd rather watch netflix!
  • my DS still too young but perhaps you DD is old enough to try some basic baking?

I have a 2 and 3.5 year old, and tend to spend afternoons at home. Activities include:

Occasionally errands
Library
Lego/Duplo
Stories
Running around the garden like wild animals
Obstacle races (current favourite)
Playmobile
Small World (beach, fairy land, farm and dinosaurs are currently 'in')
Drawing/painting
Stickers, cutting and sticking, etc
Jigsaws
Dollies
Tea party/cooking in toy kitchen
Messy stuff in garden - washing dollies, cars etc
CBeebies between 16.30 and 17.00 so I can get stuff done
