Clothing stains! Washing question!!

I feel really stupid having to ask this question, however DD has started weaning and as fun as it is, her clothes are being ruined!! I've got the big bibs but it still gets everywhere. She has sensitive skin and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips for stain removal?! We use Ecover at the moment. I know you can get vanish but is this ok for a 6month old? Any help would be much appreciated!! Smile

I have a big bucket in the kitchen and I just chuck stuff in there to soak with napisan until I put a wash on, works perfectly!

Get and overall instead of bibs vanish is fine just scoot it on but i used to use washing up liquid on food stains just work a splodge into stain and fairy washing powder ime I dont think ecover works that well

Hang it on the line in the sun. Keep it wet and most stains will fade. (works amazingly for poo marks!)

Can you feed her in just her nappy at home?

Put an adult sized tshirt over her. Tuck sleeves into her sleeves, clothes peg at the back so neck covers her clothes. It's long enough to cover her bottom half too so will protect everything.

Have a few, wash, don't worry about stains. Voila, clothes underneath have no stains.

Dd has sensitive skin like me. The only detergent I/we can use is persil non bio(although haven't used it in 2 years) and Costco 's Kirkland washing powder. It's amazing costs about £16 but the bucket last me a whole year. I use less of it and it works even better. I only use softener occasionally. But for bad stains (poo and orange food ) I have a vanish bar (£1 shop or £2 in tesco) it's better than the powder or spray. Use it on ds white shirts no more grubby collar.
Never had a stain both of these couldn't tackle.

Forgot to add that I use to use ecover but found it never got my clothes clean even if I boil washed them

At this time of year I just strip DS2 down to his nappy - waaaaay easier to just hose him down afterwards!

Amazing! Thank you all so much! Smile

Same as poo stains - scrub with ordinary hand soap and a nail brush, soak in cold water, wash as usual (I find any of the major brands of bio powder are ok) and hang on the line. The only things that have defeated me are pear and suncream, and I've recently read that washing up liquid kills suncream.
