How long was your baby in its infant car seat for?

I've been told my baby is likely to have outgrown it at 8 months but that seems far too young to me

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Thanks, yes we will keep it for a possible second baby - I would quite like a 2 year age gap - no idea how I'd cope with a toddler and a newborn but I guess other people survive! Grin

Ahem I mean congrats on your pregnancy Smile

I did explain about ERF later in my post, but thanks for the feedback. I agree that ERF is best but not everyone gets one, for one reason or another. If there is no ERF seat then it's a good idea to use the infant seat as long as possible. :)

Just checked my car seat, claims to be suitable up to 13kg. Ds2 is 8.7kg at 5 months, and it's back breaking lugging him about, though I suppose I could leave the seat in the car once he's able to sit up.

DD was 10lb 6 at birth, always been on 98th for weight and off the chart for weight. I took her out of our maxi cosi pebble plus at 5 months as she looked a bit squashed. She could have been in longer but it was too heavy to lift anyway so I just brought an extended rear facing. she officially would have been too tall at around 8 months I think.

*off the chart for height.
