School jumper itches

My son is starting at Sancton wood. The school uniform jumper is really itchy. I would love to source an alternative in pure cotton but colour- 'hunter blue' - a really difficult colour to match- any suggestions?

Have you tried washing it with loads of softener?

Or get him long sleeve shirts so he doesn't need the jumper and if he needs a jumper on top on the long sleeved shirt at least it won't be touching his skin.
