Also how bad is it to go over the word limit I am 18 words over and that was with a lot of pruning!!!!!

Perfectly normal. Well, tbh I usually feel more ecstatic than sick when I send mine off! But then feel increasingly sick as the days go by and I start to wonder if I lost the plot altogether with it.

You're allowed 10% either way over/under the word limit - are you 18 words over including that 10%?

Unless your tutor is particularly pedantic you should be alright. If they are pedantic you might get a warning not to exceed the limit a second time (in which case you might have marks deducted), but frankly I've never heard of this actually happening to anyone.

Ah I see, the word limit is 1400 but I managed 1418 so not too bad I hope.

Ah in that case you'll be fine! I always go right up to the +10% limit

oh god yes, and then even sicker when you go to open it up!

My first ever one is due on the 9th and I haven't looked at my stuff for 2 weeks after a rather over enthusiastic start. So I need to get on with it this week, but I have just started a new job and willbe working full time Monday to Friday. I will just have to take my boo in with me , I'm sure that will go down well in the first week. Won't even be quiet with this being the first week of the school holidays.... should I just give up now??

NuttyMuffins · 31/03/2007 22:10

I have to do mine thisd week and tbh i don't care anymore.

Yes Emskilou. eTMAs are a whole new ball game.. there comes a nasty moment when you are sitting with your finger hovering over the mouse button when you know you have to... but you really really don't want to... click on "submit". And then you do. And it's gone. But different to taking it the post office and knowing that until the very last moment, you can run home and re-do it!

18 words over is fine! You are allowed 10%!!
