DS ( 20 months) is at his dads for weekly contact. Just texted to say that he has had his haircut , and it cost a tenner so are we going halves.
I get £160 a month in CSA , and he just provides food, nappies and wipes at his house . I do everything else (clothes, shoes, etc etc ).
Should I just say that haircuts are his thing to do since I send him in clothes and shoes which need updating fairly often (growth spurts) ?

Just say, No, we're not. I buy his clothes. You didn't say you were getting his hair cut, so you will have to pay for that.

Thing is he sounds petty enough to just make sure he never gets his hair cut again and leaves it to you in the future. I think you need to say that you already pay for all clothes and shoes and list all the other miscellaneous things he has no input in. Then suggest that if you go in halves with the haircut is he happy to go in halves with everything you pay for?

I do home haircuts for him , which are pretty adequate , and dp takes him along to the barbers when he goes for a free once over too - think it's his remit , a bit like dentist can be done in his time

Say you will sort out the next hair cut. You don't pay half his food costs when he has contact do you?
Maybe your pretty adequate isn't good enough for him and he's trying to make a point? Or he's just being a complete arse?! Grin

God knows what will happen when he goes to school in terms of uniform costs etc , maintenance is being halved in October due to a surprise baby of his (one night stand) arriving 👍🏼

Did he tell you maintenance would be halved? I'd look that up if I were you.

Yeah I did check it on the government website , could check it again but fairly sure I got the figures correct
