Removing cushion from car seat??

We have a maxi-cosi pebble car seat and DS is 8 weeks old. He's 98th centile for length and is a big boy. I think it's time to remove the wee wedge cushion that he sits on, he looks more comfortable. Does this sound ok? Can't find anything online to clarify this.

Have you looked at the manual that came with the car seat?
I have a maxi-cosi cabriofix car seat and me and DH too were wondering if our DS was too big now for the cushion part he's 9 weeks old and also a big lad but in the manual it has pictures to show when you should remove the cushion part and the surrounding sadly no actual instructions just pictures Hmmsorry I can't be of any help the only other thing I can think of trying is perhaps going into a mothercare store and perhaps seeing if a sales assistant would have more advice on that or if you go on they're website they have that chat now maybe they might be able to help without the agro of going into a store hope this helps

We got the car seat from my brother after they were finished with it so no manual unfortunately. Great idea about asking a retailer. I'm going to pop into the shop we bought the pram and ask them. They fit car seats so should hopefully know. Thanks!

The cushion isn't there for comfort but for safety, as up to 6 months they can't sit up/ prevent slumping.

Directions for mine say keep it to 6 months (mothercare journey)

You can get the manual online - just google for it

I had the pebble and found when I removed the cushion my ds little head would flop and roll about when he fell asleep. It was awful I was so worried I kept it in til about 5 months and he was a big boy, 8lb 11Oz at birth. I also took the Base away as it made the seat more upright due to the slope of my car seats

I think it's until they can sit unaided therefore hold head. So about 6 months.
