Are there any gentle ways of stopping him sucking it? He is only 4 so I will not be going down the horrible taste nail polish etc, route yet. As of this morning ds and I have agreed that when I see him sucking, I'll say "thumb" and he'll stop. He's still allowed bedtime sucking for the moment so all is good (dentist has approved my plan). I was wondering if giving him a silky to put in his pocket to rub instead might work, or if there are any other gentle ways anyone has found that worked?
