Myhv says the formula guide that is on the tins is over 24 hours, can someone assure me that 23 oz for 7 weeks old at 9.5 lb should be over 24 hours so from 12am to 11.59pm tonight is that correct x

I always just fed when hungry. Don't over think it. My DD was a proper hungry baby and used to drink an absolute shit load. X

24 hours is that. 24 hours. if it is easiest for you to think about it from midnight one say to 2359 the next then do that. but as the PP has said and as you have been advised on your other threads the amount on the tin is just a guide. just feed your baby on demand and she will tell you how much she needs

you seem really anxious and you really should speak to your HB or GP about this. also if you are unsure about the advice the HV has given then speak to her.

Yeah, just feed on demand. That's what we did and still do - it works well for us and for DS. Different babies take different amounts and some days they take more than others. I used to really stress about this but as long as the baby is settled and alert and gaining weight they're doing fine.

OP it is a guide. Just that. Not an absolute to fit all babies since they are not all the same

But please do talk with HV about your anxieties, the number of posts here about feeding, amongst other topics indicate you are struggling

Thanks you have really put my mind at rest the last poster, I worry as it's hot, and it's a battle to get her to drink as it is

Which bottles are you using? If she is reclutant then she might do better with a different type. My DD likes the tommy tippee bottles.

Vics100pink · 19/06/2017 16:00

We had tomme tippee, changed to Mam as she didn't like tomme tippe

Is she putting on weight and weeing and pooing?

Has she been checked for tongue and lip tie?

Blueskyrain · 19/06/2017 23:21

Also check she's not too hot in this weather, if she's too hot she'll be e training sleepy and may not feel like eating.

FartnissEverbeans · 20/06/2017 14:03

In what way is it a struggle to get her to drink?

harleysmammy · 21/06/2017 03:14

My 7 week old is 13 lb 9 oz and is having anywhere between 5-8 oz a feed. Sometimes he'll have 5 oz at every feed and sometimes he'll have 8 oz one minutes and 6 the next so he never really has a set amount he has all day, as long as it is over a good amount so I know he is drinking enough for him not to loose weight or get dehydrated. I worry I'm over feeding him but like every doctor I've seen and every health visitor I've seen, if he didn't want it he wouldn't take it and if their hungry then they will let you know. Every baby is so different, what you're feeding is fine and the tin is only a guide. That's just what your baby's normal is so that's fine x
