2 year old saying F word!!!!

Dont know where he heard it just uses it when cross - do I tell him off or ignore it?
Been trying to ignore up to now but he doesnt seem to be forgetting it - dont want to make a bit thing for nothing

But find out who has been saying it in front of him and poke them in the eye until they promise not to say it in front of him again.

Also consider that it might not be the f-word he's saying ... it might be something else that he's not pronouncing properly!

Also find out where he is hearing it from and hit i from that angle, kids soon forget words if they don't hear them

my ds at that age could't say front properley and used to say c*nt! it's amazing how many times he would actually say it as well!

Are you sure he is saying the f word (my 2 year old was saying "shit" for months when he meant "sit". Got some really odd looks from others though...

DS1 used to say "Oh FFS!" at that age. But only when "driving" his pedal car...

Dh's cousins twins used to get some really odd looks. One of them said "f*ck" instead of "walk" when he wanted to get out of the pushchair, the other said it instead of "truck" ... so when one wanted to walk at the same time as there were trucks on the road, the pair of them would be yelling out what sounded like obscenities at the top of their voices.

Ds always said it instead of "stuck", but at least it was never said within earshot of the tutting elderly ladies who invariably were within earshot when the twins were saying it!

I'd be having a word with grandad in your shoes, madameweb ... it's funny now, but when your son is still saying it in a couple of years time because he hears it all the time, it won't be amusing at all.

I remember my one and a half year old saying 'Fucksake' after a driving incident and I tried to throw her off the scent by saying, 'Yes darling. Box-take.' It seemed to do the trick and divert the appropriate nuero-transmission before it set.

On the weekend our dog ran away and when dh discovered he was missing I heard "Oh jesus, oh fuck!" in a deep voice resound around the house, followed by an equally passionate "oh jesus, oh fuck" in a high pitched 2 year old voice. Well done, Daddy.

We got the dog back and I haven't heard ds repeat them again, yet. But we're off to 90 year old great-grandma's this afternoon and knowing my luck...

DTs love to play with daddy's alarm clock but ds still leaves out the "l" although all his other speech is crystal clear ..... so he often talks about playing with daddy's cock!

He used to say fuck all the time after he heard me say it - it took about a month of us totally ignoring it, making sure he never heard it again and also saying "oh dear" every time he said "oh fuck" but it worked in the end. We haven't heard it for at least a couple of months now thank goodness.

DD2 takes great delight in proclaiming "F*cking sake child" - lord knows who she heard that from . DD1 doesn't say it as she can tell I'm not impressed, but she encourages little sister to say it and laughs encouragingly.
