Public toilets with little ones

My ds is newly potty trained but when we are out and about I can't carry a potty everywhere so we need to use a regular public loo but at home we'd use a small toilet seat insert so what happens in public loos? ConfusedBlush

You hold them steady on the loo seat.

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/06/2017 12:43

You just hold them.

You hold them or they hold themselves up. And then you both wash your hands really really well.

I used to have a foldable toilet seat insert that came in a little bag off amazon

Hedgeh0g · 02/06/2017 12:44

You can get folding toilet seats for toddlers. Ours lives in my changing bag as my son is very slight and feels unsteady on toilets even if I hold him and so refuses to use them without a toddler seat.

I've got the potette plus portable potty which doubles as a portable toilet seat. I have a 3 year old and a just potty training nearly 2 year old and it's definitely been worth the money I paid for it.

I used to have a foldable one. It was a fab idea but it was a nightmare because I'm a bit of a germ-a-phone and had to carry detail wipes everywhere. It did become easier to hold them!

Northgate · 02/06/2017 12:45

We used to have a travel potty (pottette) that doubled up as a small toilet seat insert.

So could be either used as a potty or on a regular toilet.

Otherwise I put the small DC on toilet, tell them to hold onto me, and hold them round the waist / under arms so they don't fall in the toilet.

We used to have a little folding toilet seat we kept in the changing bag. Or you can get a potette which can be used as a travel potty or as a toilet seat.

Potette plus is a good one

Hedgeh0g · 04/06/2017 22:29

We have one from Amazon - think it's called Jerrybox - and it works for us. Has fitted on every toilet so far, has its own bag, folds small enough to stuff in the changing bag.

Love our potette plus
