Any tips on how to get my 3m old girl to sleep through the night? She's stil waking up for at least one bottle. She has managed to sleep through a hand full of times. She's a lot different to my 2 1/2 year old son who slept through from 5 weeks x

Once isn't bad, she's a baby, she's not meant to sleep through - she's hungry and needs to eat. Your son was a fluke I'm afraid.

Lovelilies · 31/05/2017 03:20

Nope! It's nature. She needs feeding during the night. My 11mo has only just started occasionally sleeping through.

SuperBeagle · 31/05/2017 03:28

Not sleeping through at 3mo is normal, unfortunately. She's just a different baby to your son.

Three of mine slept through before 3mo, but one didn't sleep through until 9mo. I just got very lucky with the three who did sleep through. As far as I'm aware, the one who didn't sleep through until later was much more "typical".

I've been up for 5 feeds with my 4 month old tonight. Count yourself lucky! Hmm

boatyroo · 31/05/2017 05:30

My one year old has never slept through!
One feed is brilliant at 3 months.

theclick · 31/05/2017 05:33

Hi OP, can you tell me what your routine is so far? One feed and the others not needing any is amazing!

slh123 · 31/05/2017 05:37

My 7month old still has me up anywhere between 3 & 6 times a night, and will only cat nap for 20mins during the day 😴 I'd love to just be up once

furryelephant · 31/05/2017 05:48

6 month old here on her 5th feed (8th wake up not including the 3 attempts at getting in the cot). It's very normal for babies to need feeding overnight. It all might change soon (4 month sleep regression) anyway!

teaandbiscuitsforme · 31/05/2017 07:12

One wake up at 3 months is very reasonable. My 5 mo DS woke up about 4 times last night (I try not to count!) and my DD slept through at 18mo. You were very lucky with your son.

chloechloe · 31/05/2017 08:00

Think yourself lucky that you have one who slept through and one who only wakes once! My 5mo is awake every 1.5 hours, my other child was the same! 3mo is still tiny, she needs the calories to grow!

Jennyhatesjazz0 · 31/05/2017 08:58

You can't try and make a baby sleep through at three months!

If they do it naturally, great! If not, I'm afraid you just have to roll with it for now

Apologies for upsetting anyone.. as I said In my previous post my first born slept through from 5 weeks so I kinda know no different if that makes sense. So when are babies meant to start sleeping through? X

Your expectations are unrealstic.

Kids are all different.
Some sleep through at 5 weeks some at 5 years old .

Unfortunately the answer to your q is " how long is a piece of string "
