Toddler joining nursery/new baby timing

DD is 18 months and has a place in nursery to start in September. I'm pregnant with DC2 due early December but may end up coming November for various reasons (possible ELCS).

I'm worried about sending DD to nursery with a new baby coming so soon after. She's a bit clingy so I think she'll be the one crying and sobbing for a week or two at the start. Do you think starting in Sep with baby in Nov/Dec is too close? The other alternative is leaving her at home until after baby as I'll be home on maternity plus my mother will stay with us for a few months - but then I fear she will think she's being taken to nursery afterwards because of the baby.

Anyone with experience of the best way to time this? Thanks!

September to November is a lifetime when you are that little. Am sure she will be well settled jn by then.

Definitely get her settled in sooner rather than later. Once baby comes the reliability of nursery will be good for her.

In two months she will be settled. Also, you really never can tell when it come to settling in- some people worry and their dc waltz in with no problems, others are sure theirs will be absolutely fine and end up with tears.

I know I'm probably being really PFB about this When we went for the visit she got scared when some of the teachers talked to her, so I started to worry she won't cope well.

NapQueen you're right, 2 months at her age is 10% of her life!
