How bad is it if your soon to be 18 year old daughter who has never met her father is trying to get into contact with him? Especially without telling you?

I was say it's pretty standard teenage behaviour.

It's normal. Everyone needs to know where they came from.

How bad is it for who?

I should think she is curious and perhaps suspects you will refuse to help and maybe wants to spare you upset?

it is frightening to approach someone who can reject us.
I would advise your DD to talk it through beforehand with someone neutral, not least about what may happen if she does find her bio dad.

She may be wondering about siblings she's never met.
Ultimately she may need to know health factors about her father for her own children.

Pretty normal i'd say. Who is it bad for?

Bad for who?
I think it's natural to be curious. Have you told her much about him?

corythatwas · 24/05/2017 17:56

Is he dangerous? Is there a special reason why she should not get in touch with him? Have you explained this reason to her?
