Anyone else from the 'biling-fam mailing list' and p***ed off with it?

Hi, I signed up to the biling-fam mailing list (you'll find it on google) when dd1 was born but couldn't hack the mailing list format, it's utterly tedious to read and it's a real shame because there were a lot of interesting people on it and there don't seem to be that many European-based websites or forums for bi/multi-lingual families. I went and had another look at it recently and 3 yrs later it's still the same mailing list format. I wish it had a forum format like mumsnet. Shot in the dark I know but if there's anyone reading this that has any clout with the, no doubt lovely, people who run the mailing list - is there no way it could convert to a forum format????Please?

Just tried to google for the biling-fam website, but there appear to be many (lots US based). Could you please give us some more clues? It sounds really intersting!!

I'm afraid I can't help you with your request, but am happy to 'support' you.

I think I know which newsletter you are talking about. I paid for it for about a year - that was 4 years ago, and stopped after a while.

Not long ago I came across another website that looks quite similar to mumsnet, with a forum.

It is www.bilingualfamiliesconnect.com/

Let me know what you think.
Adios.

solana - it wasnt something you had to pay for, just a mailing list where you got all the emails everyone sent as sort of threads, sorry im not describing it very well.
anasmami - i'll see if i can do a link

anasmami - i'll see if i can do a link, no can't, but here's a bit from the page with an email:

This page is maintained by Cindy Kandolf ([email protected]), who is also list administrator for the Bilingual Families mailing list, biling-fam. If you would like to receive more information, send an empty message to
[email protected]

You will then receive a file containing information about the mailing list, including instructions for subscribing.

This page is intended primarily as a place for bilingual parents to find information and resources to help them raise their children bilingually. If you know of any information that "should" be on this page but isn't, drop Cindy a line.

Thanks, Malaleche, I have had a look at the website. It looks very out-of-date......

malaleche · 22/03/2007 10:46

yes, it's a shame because there were lots of interesting discussions on it when i used to be bothered with it...

www.multilingualfamily.co.uk/
