I am constantly reading different recommendations for the kind of routine an 8 month old should have and i understand that every baby is different. I was just curious as to what your daily routines with your lo is and whether ours sounds "normal "

Cereal 6.30am
Bottle 7am
Sleep for 1 hour.
Wake and play.
Solid meal at 10.30am
Bottle 11am
Sleep for 1 hour.
Wake and play.
Solid meal at 2.30pm
Bottle at 3pm
Sleep 45 minutes.
Wake and play.
Light snack at 5pm
Bath at 6.15pm
Book at 6.50pm
Bottle 7pm

Sounds normal to me! And if it works for you then don't worry! :-) babies have a habit of changing their routine to suit them as they get older so just go with what works and enjoy it whilst it does!

Thank you!! She did get into the routine herself so she obviously thinks it works for her just always reading different things of what is right and wrong x

It's right if baby is happy, clean and fed, and you are coping.

There is no one size fits all

If your happy and baby is happy that's the main thing. Every baby is different.
My ds is now 2 but thinking back to that age his routine was

6.45 awake
7 bottle
8 breakfast
10-11 sleep
12 lunch
2-3.30 sleep
3 bottle and snack
5.30 dinner
7 bath
7.30 bottle
8 bed

I personally could not have coped with getting up before 6am though and would have tried to push things forward.
Does your lo not be hungry in the morning when she wakes up? It's a long time from she wakes til she gets her cereal.

When mine was 9 months old:

6am - wake up.
6.45am - breakfast
9-10.30 - 90 minute morning nap.
12.00 - lunch
2-3.30 - 90 minute afternoon nap.
16.30 - evening meal
6pm - upstairs for bath/stories etc
7pm - bedtime.

At 8 months babies main nutrition should be from milk so I would offer milk before meals. If your routine works for you then great.

It looks pretty normal to me, and if you and your DS are happy with it that's what matters. My only opinion would be maybe try to drop the 3rd nap? We followed a 2,3,4 pattern from about 7/8 months and it meant his 2 naps lengthened to 1.5/2 hours each, which was nice! 4 bottles a day at that age is what we did, gradually dropping them down and replacing with more solids so by 12/13 months he was just on one before bed and the rest was cows milk in a cup. They all go at their own pace though!

IMHO you do not need a routine!!!! Just feed LO when it wants and put her to sleep when she is sleepy. Honestly I used to drive myself mad with all these too, but babies have millions of years of evolution in what they need. Relax and enjoy your baby
