Another car seat question

Sorry.

We're having some trouble finding car seats that fit our car, the selection seems fairly small.

My first novice question;
will I hate myself forever if I don't buy one of the car (bassinets?) seats with a handle so I have to wake him every time we get out the car?

Do you think that strapping the seat in with just a seatbelt feels as secure as attaching to a base?

Many thanks

Have you found the car seat advice group on Facebook? They're amazing for information and advice and would be able to give you all the options for your car.

If you want to save money, there are a lot of birth to 4 seats available now but the infant carriers are handy in the early months! It's personal choice though.

Belted seats are as safe as isofix seats; it's just that belted seats are more likely to be fitted incorrectly and there's less room for error with isofix.

I'll check out the Facebook group, thank you

I didn't have the handle car seat for my first and thought it was fine but second time I had the seat that then went on the pram and honestly was so good. I don't like to use the car seat on the pram much but for popping into the shop, appointments or between the car and house it's really handy.

Both of mine slept through the car to pram transfer so sleep wise it didn't make a difference.
